<table border="0" width="seemingly whatever"> the left blue is a single column inside the outside table; the cells inside it are part of a nested table
it is set to valign=top; without this the cells insde the table all drop to the bottom

this is a nested table of <td> inside a <tr>bold

could anyone inform me about

"how to extract data from html documents"

for eg:
to extract the required data from sec filings

(from html source)

i think that an html parser /dom or sax api etc has to be used.

any source code for this.
